Face Up 21 Blackjack is based upon European rules and simply put when a player wishes to ‘Double Down’ he may only do so when his two cards total a hard 9, 10 or 11, this he can also do after a split as in the case of two 5’s. There is no insurance available nor can a player surrender his hand and lose only half his stake.
The dealer is always forced to stand on Hard 17 but on soft 17 he always has to hit. This game comes with no ‘Push’, so all tied games the Dealer wins. One may be wondering, where’s the big incentive for playing the game?
Simply put, when the cards are dealt for each game, both sets of cards are dealt face up and from that point on the game takes a life on all of its very own, it starts to play out automatically!
With a normal game of Blackjack a player would play his hand out first, then the game would go to the dealer. Say the dealer had been dealt a hard 17 he would have to stand. The player may have already elected to stand on 16 and therefore forfeit the game. Not so in Face Up 21, the players cards will automatically continue to be dealt and now he could still potentially win the hand!
